“I always knew I was a ‘hands on’ person and as my Dad was a carpenter, I naturally followed in his footsteps. After leaving school I worked for my Dad’s building company where I was surrounded by experienced and highly skilled senior carpenters as well as other tradespeople who passed on invaluable knowledge of their trades. I feel very fortunate to have been able to learn my craft from such a variety of talented mentors. I balanced working for the firm with my college commitments where I completed my apprenticeship, achieving NVQ levels 1, 2 and 3.

When Dad retired I struck out on my own, becoming self-employed in 2006. Since then I have carried out a wide range of carpentry jobs in both domestic and commercial environments. I have also been able to undertake several restoration projects over the years, which when completed sympathetically and to the highest standard, give me great satisfaction.

My years in the trade have allowed me to build up a number of strong relationships with other top quality tradespeople and associated specialists who can be called on when required, such as plasterers, decorators, electricians and gas-safe plumbers so I can ensure a job runs smoothly from start to finish. The tradespeople I use are always certified to current regulations and supply the necessary documentation when required.”
